Master Barton's May Blog

How do you like our new look at PKC4.com? We have added new pictures, Competitor of the Quarter, and it is now easy access to check your points. Master Bill LaVoice and Sensei Grant Miller have been working very hard and diligently to get the points updated in a timely fashion. Thanks for the behind the scenes work that is always appreciated by the staff at PKC4.

On April 17th, Master's Chuck Gorino and Bill Adams held their Champions Challenge Martial Arts Championships in Amherst, NY. With over 200 competitors, the event went off flawless with the floor coordination of Master Ron Cain keeping the action flowing. The awards were absolutely beautifully designed cups for the competitors. One thing that was outstanding was the number of women competitors, and junior black belts. Everyone left the event vowing to return next year, as it was a totally great experience. PKC4 takes great pride making our events second to none.

Coming up next is the Lion's Den Karate and Grappling Championships held at Beaver HS in Beaver, PA. Master Bill LaVoice and family are sponsoring this tournament, as last year was their first. The tournament promises to have awesome coordination, beautiful awards and excellent competition. The tournament will be held Saturday May 15, 2009 and will start on time at 10AM. Please register early to take advantage of the discount early bird registration. Four-foot trophies for first place scaled to three foot for second and etc. promise to be a very nice award to take home. For more information call 724 495 7646. This tournament is rated Single National points and Double Regional.

Saturday June 19, 2010 The Erie Open III will be held at Central HS, Erie, PA. This is a new tournament to Region IV but not a stranger to the PKC. Last year this tournament event was rated National only. Tournament promoter Brian Arrington decided to join the PKC4 team and is rated Single points National and Region IV. Remember PKC competitors this tournament is one of the last tournaments that you can receive points before the PKC National season ends. This could make a difference being National Champion or 1st or 2nd runner up. Don't miss this opportunity, plus the tournament is an efficiently run event with awesome competition. For more info please contact Master Brian Arrington at 814 4404535.

Finally after this tournament we will select the Adult, Teen and Child competitor of the Quarter. You can only receive this selection once a year to make room for four candidates to be the PKC4 Competitor of the Year which will be awarded at our banquet at the 2011 King Cobra Karate Championships January 28 / 29, 2011.

Good competition and developing Champions is our goal at PKC4.

Making a difference.
