June Blog

It was a very beautiful day as the Lion’s Den Karate and Grappling Championship went down May 15, 2010 with excellent competition from Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio and New Jersey battling it out for first places honors. On hand was Grand Master Ken Mc Kennzie from New Jersey who overseen the tournament and helped keep the action rolling. The breaking this year was exceptionally good with impressive breaks from the many competitors that entered that competition. The awards were absolutely awesome with four-foot trophies for all the top winners.
Our next PKC IV tournament will be the Erie Open held at Central High School, Erie, PA. Master Brian Arrington will host this event being his third year doing so. The tournament is a PKC4, PKC National and NBL rated event. The date is Friday June 18 and Saturday June 19, 2010. Contact number 814 440 4535. This is Master Arrington’s third year promoting this tournament and more and more competitors attend each year. Remember PKC points chasers; this is our last event for the National season which ends July 1
st. Therefore, this is your last chance to get your National points together for National Awards. The Region points continue to run until December 31, which puts us in the middle of the season.
Another reminder, we now have Adult, Teen and Child competitor of the quarter. After the Erie Open we will pick the three candidates and add to the previous so at the end of the Regional season we will choose the Competitor of the Year and give special awards at the next awards banquet. The selection will be a choice from each category from the four quarterly nominations. By competing in this tournament it will increase your chances of getting the nomination for this quarter.
This is our last tournament for the summer. We will continue to bring you excellent competition, very well organized events and fair judging to make your tournament experience a pleasant one. Please feel free to contact me for more updates planned for the PKC4.
